Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) wanted to speed up the pace of the critical simulations that it conducts to optimize cars for races. EGR worked with VI-grade to deploy a four-node cluster using Adams/Car simulation software from MSC.Software and VI-SportsCar software from VI-grade running on the Windows HPC Server 2008 operating system. Now that simulations are four times faster, EGR can run additional simulations for greater accuracy and, ultimately, faster racecars.
