Marburg, April 25th, 2012 – VI-grade GmbH, the leading provider of best-in-class products and services to bridge the gap between real world testing and technical simulation, today announced that the Brazilian branch of PSA Peugeot Citroen, one of the major players in the automotive industry, selected VI-CarRealTime, the specialized real-time vehicle simulation environment from VI-grade, to optimize the design of their vehicles. In particular, the PSA do Brasil research and development team selected the VI-CarRealTime solution to support the development process of new cars specifically conceived for the Brazilian market.
“We were looking for a reliable solution that could enable us to easily design and optimize our vehicles” says Claudio Fernandes, Suspension Architecture Manager, PSA do Brasil. “The functionalities offered by VI-CarRealTime enable us to easily obtain a model of our car through the automatic generation of suspension curves thanks to the VI-SuspensionGen toolkit. The model allows us to evaluate in real-time the dynamic response of the car and this saves time and builds confidence in the conceptual phase.”
“Automotive transportation represents a strategic market in our country and we are happy that an important reference such as PSA has selected Multicorpos as strategic partner for the implementation of a virtual prototyping process based on VI-CarRealTime,” says Alvaro Costa Neto, Managing Director, Multicorpos Engenharia. “We are looking forward to supporting the local branch of PSA in getting the most advantage out of this exciting simulation solution.”
“We are happy to report this important commercial success through Multicorpos in the automotive industry,” says Guido Bairati, Sales Director, VI-Grade. “This demonstrates the efficiency of our commercial strategies in the Americas region, that relies on a network of experienced and respected resellers. We are looking forward to a continuous a fruitful collaboration in Brazil!”
VI-CarRealTime provides a vehicle simulation environment where the same simplified vehicle model can be used by vehicle dynamics and controls engineers to optimize vehicle and control system performance. The product enables engineers to quickly and easily perform large Design of Experiments (DOE) and multi-objective optimization studies. VI-CarRealTime is the only real-time solution available in the market that can automatically and seamlessly export a real-time vehicle model directly from ADAMS/Car™. Similarly, VI-CarRealTime also enables to share component property files such as tires, springs, dampers, and bumpstops with ADAMS/Car™. VI-CarRealTime provides validated models which can be used by controls and hydraulic engineers to optimize the controller design based on accurate vehicle performance. VI-CarRealTime can be integrated with Matlab Simulink for controls systems.
About PSA do Brasil
With its two globally renowned brands, Peugeot and Citroën, PSA Peugeot Citroën sold more than 3.5 million vehicles worldwide in 2011, of which 42% were outside Europe. As Europe’s second largest carmaker, it generated sales and revenue of €59.9 billion.
Multicorpos is an exclusive software reseller for CAE analyses in Latin America for the most prestigious companies in these fields, such as MSC Software for structural and dynamic analyses, FEV for virtual engine simulation and VI-grade for specialized system-level simulation solutions. Multicorpos also includes a dedicated service team able to perform advanced dynamic analyses using the computational tool for Multibody Systems by means of MSC.ADAMS. The team also owns expertise in structural analyses using the technique of finite elements simulation as well as in the analysis of fluid systems using computational techniques (CFD). Located in the high tech district of São Carlos, Multicorpos provides counseling support in the business area and relies on qualified human resources through a close relationship with two of the most important universities (UFSCar and USP).
