VI-grade Launches State-of-the-Art SimCenter in Shanghai to Drive Next-Generation Vehicle Development
Shanghai, China, November 18th, 2025 – VI-grade, the global provider of human-centric simulation-driven vehicle development solutions, today announced the official launch of its new SimCenter in the Jiading District, the hub of Shanghai’s automotive industry and one of the largest automotive bases in China. This facility, now open for technology demonstrations, focuses on Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), and NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) applications.
The new SimCenter unites VI-grade’s state-of-the-art simulation platforms with Meccanica 42’s precision hardware systems, including the CamiL camera-in-the-loop and BrakeiL brake-in-the-loop rigs. This powerful combination lets visitors experience how top automakers leverage real-time simulation and seamless software–hardware integration to shorten design cycles, improve performance correlation, and move closer to Zero Prototypes development by harnessing the power of smart simulation.
The following demo set-ups are currently available for customers and prospects to experience, with more to be added in the near future:
DESKTOP NVH Simulator
The DESKTOP NVH Simulator delivers an interactive driving experience of vehicle NVH by bringing sound data into the real world for physical evaluation. This immersive environment allows both engineers and non-specialists to intuitively compare and select NVH designs Powered by VI-NVHSim software, the system is equipped with a steering wheel and pedals, enabling drivers to experience acoustic characteristics in real time.
Virtual and Mixed Reality Demos
By combining VR and MR headsets with VI-grade’s driving simulators, the Demo Center provides highly immersive human-machine interface (HMI) testing. These technologies deliver visual, auditory, and tactile feedback, enabling comprehensive evaluations across multiple scenarios with enhanced realism and efficiency.
AutoHawk Real-Time HiL Platform
AutoHawk is VI-grade’s next-generation HiL solution, powered by Concurrent Real-Time technology. It combines real-time hardware, operating systems, software, and I/O cards in a highly configurable setup. AutoHawk can function as a standalone Linux-based computer, as a HiL system, in connection with driving simulators, or even directly in vehicles.
BrakeiL Real-Time Brake Test Rig
Developed by Meccanica 42, BrakeiL is a real-time test rig for complete brake systems, including pedal, booster, master cylinder, ESC/ABS controller, calipers, and rotors. By simulating wheel speed inputs and measuring brake pressures in real time, BrakeiL provides a closed-loop test environment for developing, calibrating, and validating braking functions.
CamiL Camera-in-the-Loop Rig
Also developed by Meccanica 42, the CamiL rig replicates the real operating environment of vehicle camera sensors, enabling real-time testing of cameras and controllers connected to simulation systems. Mounted within the rig, cameras capture virtual driving scenarios displayed on a full-HD screen, while an integrated LED system provides dynamic lighting effects. This makes CamiL an ideal platform for ADAS and intelligent chassis development.
“Shanghai is one of the world’s most important automotive hubs, and the opening of our new SimCenter marks a significant milestone for VI-grade in this region. It also reaffirms our commitment to better serving our customers and partners in China,” said Kevin Ye, APAC Sales Director at VI-grade. “With this facility, we can provide direct access to the latest simulation technologies and solutions, empowering our customers to reduce development costs, accelerate innovation, bring products to market faster and safer, and confidently advance toward a Zero Prototypes process.”
The new VI-grade SimCenter Shanghai is now open for bookings, offering customers and partners the chance to experience first-hand how simulation-driven development is redefining the way vehicles are designed, tested, and perfected.
