How do you create interior soundscapes and exterior vehicle sounds that convey vehicle character and brand DNA without spending countless hours in a vehicle on the road?
How do you break the time-consuming cycle of “design in studio”, then “try in a car”, then repeat?
VI-NVHSim enables sound designers and NVH engineers to develop, experience, tune and evaluate Active Sound Design concepts within a complete NVH virtual prototype. Sound design solutions can be connected to VI-NVHSim in real time, allowing generated sounds to be experienced together with road, wind, powertrain and other vehicle sound sources under realistic and continuously changing driving conditions

VI-NVHSim provides an open environment for Active Sound Design development, connecting the NVH virtual prototype with a growing ecosystem of sound design solutions. Vehicle and driving parameters can be streamed to the connected ASD environment in real time, while the generated audio is returned to VI-NVHSim and experienced together with the complete vehicle soundscape.
Supported integrations shown include BlackBerry QNX LiveAMP, Bose ASM, Müller-BBM ml|klang, DSP Concepts Audio Weaver, Audiokinetic Wwise, Impulse Audio Lab EVx Suite, Neosonic Test Lab Sound Designer, HARMAN HALOsonic, and 3rd-party ASIO-supported tools such as Max/MSP.Drive the NVH virtual prototype, stream real-time vehicle parameters to the connected sound design environment, generate or modify the Active Sound Design contribution, and experience the result together with road, wind, powertrain and other vehicle sounds. Alternative concepts can be evaluated under the same repeatable driving conditions and tuned interactively.

Develop interior and exterior sound concepts earlier in the vehicle development process and assess them in realistic, repeatable driving conditions. VI-NVHSim lets teams hear Active Sound Design together with the acoustic signature of the complete vehicle, compare alternative concepts back-to-back and reduce reliance on repeated on-road evaluation and tuning.
