Background & Motivation
For over a decade, VI-grade has been at the forefront of empowering Formula SAE and Formula Student teams with cutting-edge vehicle dynamics simulation tools.The Virtual Formula competition provides students with a hands-on opportunity to optimize race car performance using professional motorsport simulation software. Additionally, this year’s the competition will be region-focused, with the first edition dedicated to EMEA teams. This change aligns the competition’s schedule with real-world Formula SAE and Formula Student events, ensuring better synchronization and relevance for participating teams.

Competition Overview & Rules
The Virtual Formula 2025 consists of two main phases:1. Model Preparation & Scrutineering
- Teams will develop and refine their VI-CarRealTime vehicle models using VI-Motorsport.
- Vehicle models will undergo validation through offline dynamic events, including:
- Skidpad
- Acceleration
- Autocross
- Teams must submit documentation detailing the modifications made to the standard baseline model provided by VI-grade.
- Qualified teams will compete on a brand-new Virtual Formula racetrack.
- Teams will be allowed a final tuning session before submitting their best lap time.
- The fastest lap time will determine the winning team.
Competition Class
==> Please note that the 2025 Virtual Formula will feature a single class: Electric Vehicle (EV).

- π Feb. 17th – Mar. 2nd → Registration period EXTENDED TO Mar. 14th
- π Mar. 3rd – Apr. 6th → Phase 1: Model Preparation
- π Apr. 7th – Apr. 13th → VI-grade Scrutineering
- π Apr. 14th – May 4th → Phase 2: Lap Time Attack
- π May 15th → Winner announcement at VI-grade's 2025 Zero Prototypes Summit
