To advance digital development in vehicle engineering, SUBARU conducted a trial ride comfort evaluation using the DiM300 driving simulator installed at the Simulation & Virtual Testing Lab (S&VL) in Ota (Gumma), Japan.
The team performed on-the-fly tuning of various vehicle characteristics, followed by test drives and evaluations. This trial demonstrated that even without a physical prototype, subjective evaluations aligned with the quantitative differences observed offline.
The team also found the driving simulator to be a valuable communication tool for designers and evaluators, facilitating the determination of vehicle performance direction in the early design phase. SUBARU aims to integrate this technology into its core digital development processes.
